Solomons Europe

About Us.

Our Story.

Solomons Europe was founded in 1998 by Dominic and Kerry Doig, who, in their twenties, set out to build a Chartered Quantity Surveying practice with little more than determination and a willingness to learn. In those early days, every decision mattered — we had to earn trust, gain knowledge, and prove ourselves to clients who placed their confidence in us.

We were also among the early adopters of NEC® contracts, engaging with the first edition and building our careers in parallel with its rise in the industry. Many of our colleagues came through day-release degrees and RICS pathways, and those formative experiences instilled the values of continuous learning, professional integrity, and resilience that still guide us today.

Over 25 years later, that same ethos drives us: combining technical expertise with continuous development to build trust, confidence, and long-term relationships.

Today, those same principles underpin the way we deliver projects. We combine contractual expertise with collaborative behaviours to ensure NEC4 projects are delivered in line with our Clause 10 Collective principles of trust and cooperation.

We invest in people at every stage — from apprenticeships and graduate pathways to chartered membership and fellowship — and we support continuous development through structured training and mentoring. Alongside technical excellence, we embed behavioural models such as DiSC® and The Five Behaviours® into project delivery, ensuring teams have the people skills as well as the contract knowledge to succeed.

Our sector moves quickly, and we’ve learned to respond by staying agile, informed, and resilient. From the beginning, we’ve believed that professional growth never stops — every career is a journey, and every project is a chance to learn and improve.

We believe change brings opportunity. The industry needs professionals who are principled, imaginative, and committed to delivering more than short-term cost savings.

As early adopters of NEC®, we recognised its potential to transform the way projects are delivered, and that conviction still shapes our work today. But our purpose goes further: we are passionate about ensuring that major projects bring wider socio-economic value to the regions in which they are delivered.

Through our Matchmaker service, we connect clients with local SMEs to strengthen supply chains and generate long-term regional growth.

We promote collaborative procurement approaches that prioritise socio-economic sustainability and value over lowest cost. We share learning and knowledge across teams and frameworks, helping to raise standards and capability across the sector.

Our purpose is simple: to deliver NEC4 contractual excellence while enabling growth, knowledge-sharing, and opportunity through smarter procurement and stronger collaboration.
